Short-run platforms with laser-flat slabs and no future access needs may use fixed posts. Some temporary stages and exhibit floors also prefer fixed geometry. Even then, verify that “fixed” still meets load and code expectations.
Cost is more than unit price
Fixed parts can look cheaper per piece. Add shim labor, rework, and schedule delays from out-of-level bays, and adjustable systems frequently win on installed cost. Ask GCs for production rates from comparable jobs.
